Gloversville High School

Hello,

So in addition to my Red River layout, I worked on our next trip and adventure for 2007. We took a trip up to Gloversville, NY for Dad's high school reunion. So here was the layout from Stuck?!

I was so excited for this layout, with the triangles since I had never done something like that. Well... because of that I struggled with the layout for some time. I just couldn't wrap my mind around it and what I wanted to do!

I had more pictures and kinda moved things around. In the end made a bit of a retro theme as well, a happy accident! I went for a monotone theme, since Gloversville's HS colors are maroon and white. DCWV's Guys Stack was the background piece and all the other paper was left over scraps. So who knows where they are from!

And for a nice laugh at my dad's yearbook photo I tried to recreate the pose.

Red River Camping

Hello,

It was a nice weekend, can't say I did much other than scrapbooking! At this rate I am catching up, slowly but surely. So I'll show you my double page layout I did. Seven years ago, at Red River. A gorgeous city northern New Mexican city, and always full of fun.

Ta-da! I couldn't believe my luck when I found that blue paper that perfectly matched the sky. The black and creme diamond paper is a classic stack of DCWV's Le Creme, and the green square paper is DCWV Cotton Blossom. We have used that stack like crazy. Almost out of it. So sad, but so glad there are so many more stacks I want!

So a good weekend, and now hopefully a good week!

Time to Drive

Hello!

So even though our poor craft room was torn apart and a mess. I managed to clear a 12x12 spot to craft, being around craft stuff and not crafting was just killing me. Especially since cleaning dug up so many things I was dying to use! So here is the page, I worked with two different challenges.

The lovely sketch came from Stuck?! Sketches , which I love all that negative space! I was so excited when I saw I could use three pictures since I gripe about sketches that don't feature a lot of pictures and here I used one picture.

The color scheme came from the picture and also fit the color challenge palette from The Studio Challenge.

I tweaked the color palette slightly, instead of hot pink I used red to match the car.

So here is my page:

I think the color palette works perfectly with the picture, since my pictures always inspire the color theme or theme to my pages. The orange paper is from DCWV's Spring & Summer Stack and the great highway sign paper is also from DCWV, Travel Stack.

The little stop sign was one of my clean up finds! As well as the red car. I thought the little stop light was just too cute. I love adding little theme touches.

Now I want you to go to those fabulous blogs and join in the fun challenge.

Double Cheers

Hello,

Monday! Are you really back again!? Well I finished this layout the week or two, oh boy two weeks ago already.

I am always doing double layouts, and can never find sketches for them. So that inspired me to create a sketch of the layout I made. This is my very first sketch! So I hope you like it, and if any of you use it I would love to see what you make with it! Please please post your creations.

Now I'll show you the layout that was my inspiration:

And now the sketch:

I think it is a great way to have a lot of photos, and still highlight a lot of great paper! I had a lot of fun embellishing this one as well. I hope you enjoy the sketch and maybe put it to use this week!

My craft room is in demolition right now, it was long over due for a good organization clean up.

Favorites

Hello there!

It's scrapbooking weekend! First I needed to do a bit of organization of my books. Taking me away from creating, but it has to get done sometime. So while I was organizing I found some of my favorite pages I did a while ago, and thought I would share. I'm a bit late on throwback thursday.

A Christmas layout, I love the colors on this one. It's traditional colors, but with a bit of a twist. I also love the parenthesis, and using typography in fun different ways. Like below as well..

An old track layout. I love the colors, how the coordinate with the pictures so well.

I do so many camping layouts, and this one is so different and fun from so many of mine so it has a fond place in my heart. The pop of pink is different and eye catching, it also coordinates with the wood print.

These two pages were a double layout, so I copied the layout but did in a very different color scheme and theme. I love how the waves and stars move diagonally across the page. And the subtle similarities to tie them a bit together like the use of gold. I love the layering on this one.

So this may be my all time favorite layout! I love the colors, and just how beachy it is. I live in the middle of the desert and this makes me crave a good beach day so much. I also love using pearl dots. Also it just indulges my nautical obsession!

So now I would love to see some of your old layouts that you love.

Sun Sets on Hawaii Pages

Hello,

Half way through this week, which means that much closer to the weekend, which I have great plans for fun events and a lot of scrapbooking!

This page was a bit tricky for me. Have you ever gotten about half way through and thought, "oh crap now what?"

Yeah that's what happened to me, but I pushed on!

Here is the final page:

I used DCWV's Hey Sailor Stack. Please tell me I am not the only one who is obsessed with anything nautical! I am and proud to admit it. I have always loved anchors and so excited that pretty much anywhere you turn is anchors.

So back to the page, the stripe colors matched perfectly to the photos. I added some yellow strip scraps we had laying around and make little rays that I layered with ribbon and embroidery floss. I layered some borders I cut out with the Silhouette, they looked like clouds to me. I also was so excited to cut the word "last" out on the machine using a gorgeous font I downloaded. It may be my favorite part of the page.

2 more days until I will be back at scrapbooking! More of 2007 to chip at...

DCWV July Stack Challenge

Hello,

Is it Monday? Does it have to be Monday I want to go back to the weekend, the weekend full of scrapbooking! As you have seen I am working on a family trip to Hawaii, from ... I cringe saying it ... 2007! This weekend I am now one page away from being done and moving on to other great trips and things.

Though I love bright colors, and flowers I am so ready to be done using all tropical things. The page today is as bright and tropical as you can get.

I also was super speedy on this month's DCWV July Challenge. Here is the layout we were to use:

And now here is mine, and I switched up the layout a bit since I had two horizontal pictures.

This may be one of my favorite layouts! The blue scale looking overlay came from my mom and I playing around on her new Silhouette machine. We are still playing and trying to figure out how to use the thing! The main piece of paper is DCWV's Summer Magic Stack. The rest of the pieces of paper are scraps from DCWV, like the Cork, foil from Citrus Stack, and one from a neutral stack. I love getting use to use up scraps. I never get rid of anything I could use again.

Here is some close up details of the title and the sun.

Maybe I'll sneak in some scrapping today and make this Monday a bit better.

UPDATE:  My page made it to the top 15 for DCWV's challenge!
